"I Two"

is what Addy will say when asked "how old are you?" She will also put up her two fingers from time to time, it depends on her mood.

I can't get over the fact that our little lady is two years old today. It is amazing how quickly time flies, and how much fun we are having. Words can't describe our love for our sweet little angel. We are so blessed to have her in our world.

Addy has grown leaps and bounds over the past couple of months. Here is what our little lady is up to these days:

  • is mum mum's (that's what she calls me) little helper. She adores helping me cook, empty the dishwasher, unpack the groceries.....you name it, she loves helping. I need to get her started on weekly chores!

  • such a daddy's girl. When Dave is home on the weekends, she is all about dad!

  • her vocabulary is growing at an incredible rate. she picks up new words each day. she is also forming 2-3 word mini-sentences. she likes to tell me that there is a "monkey in tree" and she will then proceed to make the sound for a monkey. a couple weeks ago, as we were walking LT, I stopped to throw away some garbage in the park, Addy turns to the garbage can and says "bye bye LT poop". she makes me laugh ever day. i love that munchkin.

  • can count with you to 10.

  • can usually identify the colors blue, pink & orange. if you ask her what color an object is, she will usually start with blue, but once she concentrates....she gets it right. she will also pick up something orange and say "orange"

  • knows the circle shape. we need to work on the others

  • loves Mickey Mouse, Little Einsteins and Dora the Explorer. we have to go into the Disney store when we are at the mall. The big Mickey Mouse face at the entrance makes her day.

  • is a picky eater. she is pretty good about eating veggies, but could care less about meat. her favorite meal: ham, mashed potatoes & corn. she devours this dish, so it has become a weekly staple.

  • loves playing outside, reading books, dancing, singing, jumping and playing hide and go seek.

  • can make the following animal/object sounds: train, cow, monkey, sheep, pirate, horse, cat, ghost, turkey, snake, duck, pig, car (beep beep), airplane

  • thinks its hysterical to scare LT. If she brings home a new toy or balloon (LT's worst nightmare), she chases him around the house, laughing hysterically as LT runs and jumps out of her way. Poor LT, he is a good sport.

  • also thinks "grooming" LT is a daily necessity. She likes to pretend to blow his nose, clip his toenails, brush his hair.....she is going to be a wonderful big sister.

Birthday Party

Addison's first birthday party was a big success! A great big thank you to the grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends for being here to help us celebrate Addison's first birthday. Here are some pictures from her party:

Who doesn't want to wear a tu-tu on their birthday?
Cousins: Meghan & Julia
Cousin: WilliamAddison's friend Landon

Birthday Cake

Addy's very own birthday cake:

hmm...what should I wish for?

let me at that cake!
Addison didn't make a mess of her cake. She doesn't like to get her fingers dirty, so once her little fingers were covered in frosting....she had enough.

We hope everyone had a very happy Thanksgiving.

xoxo,

David, Kristen and Addison

Addison is One!

Happy Birthday Addison! We can hardly believe that our tiny baby is already one (and no longer a tiny). I remember November 20, 2007 like it was yesterday. It was freezing (much like it is today). We got to the hospital by 7am and spent the next 2 hours getting prepped for the c-section. As I looked outside the window, I noticed some snow flakes, the first snow fall of the year. It was a truly magical day. Addison was born at 9:40am. That was the moment our lives changed, for the better.

The past year has been so full of joy. We didn't know it was possible to love someone so much. Addison is so wonderful and has such a personality. We are truly blessed that she is a part of our family.

Addy has developed leaps and bounds over the past 3 months. More specifically she:

  • is taking 10-15 steps unassisted and gaining more confidence with each step. She has started to walk, as opposed to crawl, from the coffee table to her toy bucket.

  • says "mama, dada, baba" she will try to make a "T" sound, which I believe is her way of calling LT. she also says "yeah" and will even use it in the appropriate context. for example, I will say "Addison, do you want to eat lunch?" and she will say "yeah."

  • has 8 teeth

  • is fascinated with the phone

  • loves to turn the TV on an off. as well as open and close the DVD tray

  • loves to read

  • shakes her body to dance to any music, she will also move her hands around when she dances. sometimes she dances with her body, sometimes she dances with her hands....but whenever she is dancing, she has the biggest smile and she rocks her head from side to side. we don't have any idea where she gets her love for dancing, as most of you know....neither Dave nor I were blessed with the gift of rhythm.

  • loves to play with LT

  • has mastered waving hello and good bye. she waves to anyone and everyone. but she loves waving to LT. she waves "bye bye" to LT as we go upstairs for her nap, and waves "hello" to LT when she gets up from her nap.

  • eats most anything

  • her one year appointment is next week, so we are anxious to find out how much she has grown over the past 3 months.

More pictures to come, after we celebrate with cup cakes tonight! We looking forward to seeing some family and friends this weekend at Addison's birthday party! And no, there will not be any ponies or elephants at Addy's party....much to Grandma Rougeau's dismay.
