Addison @ 18 Months

How quickly time flies! It is so hard to believe our little sweetie is 18 months old already. Wow! Addy's development over the past 3 months has been incredible. Her mental and physical development has been extraordinary. She is so much fun. Here is a list of some of her recent developments:

  • 27 lbs, 32 1/3" tall, 80th percentile for weight, 70th percentile for height

  • has 13 teeth - with 3 on their way in

  • loves to do "high-fives", "low-fives" and "dibs" (fist bumps)

  • can identify eyes, nose, mouth, hair, ears, tummy, belly button, teeth and tongue

  • can identify a number of animals/objects in her books

  • is an amazing climber. she can manage to pull herself onto most anything - and very quickly. as soon as I turn my back, she has climbed onto the dining room table. needless to say, she needs 4 eyes on her at all times! thankfully, she has not yet learned how to climb out of her crib.

  • her vocabulary is still fairly limited, but she is trying to say a number of words. some of her new words are: car, kitty, ishies (for fishies), cheese, calls LT "T".
  • when asked "what does a pirate say" she responds "agrrrr". she will also say "moo" when asked "what does a cow say"

  • loves to point to every car that we see. as we walk, I have to say "there's a blue car, there's a green car, there's a black car." If I don't identify one car (heaven forbid!) she will point to it and say "car!" as if to say "mommy, you missed one!"

  • if you ask her a location of an object, that she can't find - she will move her arms with her palms up and shrug her shoulders - her sign language for "i don't know"

  • LOVES being outside. as long as we are playing outside - Addison is as happy as can be. she loves walking around the neighborhood visiting all the dogs and smelling the neighbor's flowers (maybe that's because our landscaping leaves a lot to be desired and we have only a few flowers - we need to work on that!).

  • she also adores her swing. we spend hours a day playing with this swing.
We spent Memorial Day in at my parent's house in Olean. We had a great time, especially Addy. She got to go for her first convertible car ride in Grandpa's mustang - she loved it. We ended up going for a number of rides. She also rode around on Grandpa's riding lawn mower - this scared Addy and she wanted off as soon as it started.

Getting ready to go

So far, so good

I love the wind in my hair

Rollercoaster

We recently bought Addison this roller coaster. She is loving life playing on this toy. We spend at least an hour a day playing with this! It is inside for now, but will need to go outside as soon as possible....it is taking up way too much space in our family room!
